The NFL Officials admit they blew the interference call and

A player can NOT spike the ball unless he takes the snap directly from the center. This was a "long" snap. In which case, his only option was to throw the ball downfield.

The giants should have had another play, but so what? I'm not a Giants fan and it's just 1 less week of hearing about a potential all NY nightmare of a SuperBowl.
