I went there once after the June convention in '01 and it was fun. It was 110 and climbing when I hopped out of the car at noon but like the chip sez, "It's a dry heat!" and I had no problem casino-hopping on foot all afternoon. No opinion on where to stay, Ramada was fine with me. Different than Las Vegas and different than Reno too. Cheap, I liked that! One day to do the whole place IMO, if you've got a car, try Searchlight Nugget for a 9am Bud and blackjack (the eye-in-sky in Searchlight is another dealer watching you and your dealer from a stool off the the side. ), Cal-Nev-Ari and I guess there's a new place in Searchlight.
