I have thoroughly enjoyed this thread. Its opened my eyes to the realities of buying and selling and the many opinions over expectations.
Sellers want to recoup their expenses and make a profit. Buyers are thrifty and want the best deal and low S/H. What it all boils down to is - sooner or later a buyer will agree to a price because they think the price is worth it. If a seller can get a buyer at $2-3 S/H then he got lucky. It all depends on how bad a buyer wants the chip.
Sure - I'd love to be able to buy all of my chips off of sellers on TheChipBoard and pay exact postage - but this board isn't exactly built for high volume trading and selling. You'll start to see the whiners posting about "stop all of the messages about selling your chips!".
Personally, I think that eBay needs to revamp its feed for items below $9.99. I don't think that charging almost a 10% fee for their service is worth it. (I hear the people who are against posting NEW chips on eBay applauding as this will discourage posting cheap/new chips on eBay).
High fees on eBay is why places like Jackpot will do well in the long run. Lower fees and designed for chippers.
Long live the debate!!!
