I can only answer for myself. I look at total cost including the shipping. If I can get the chip(s) at a total price that is acceptable to me, I bid even if the shipping is a little high.
I do not bid if the shipping charges are out of line for the lot being offered. Charging high shipping fees is an indication of other potential problems dealer with that person and their business practices. The "trust" just is not there if when you see a high shipping charge. No shipping charges listed is also an indication of lots to avoid. I also do not like it when people add an additional charge amount (25 - 50¢) for each lot especially when only one chip is in the lot. It does not usually cost any more to ship that 1 additional chip. Why add more? I tend to stay away from auctions when that is the business practice of the seller.
