Bruce, if it continues, this kind of crap will erode the fun of chip collecting as most people know it--new issue chips will be viewed as pogs. The story that you conveyed turns my stomach. There is no reasonable explanation why a casino would allow something like this to happen, except, of course, for GREED, GREED, GREED! When a casino allows ONE person or group of persons to corner the chip market on a new issue, that casino should be SHUT DOWN! Even if the casino was looking for equitable distribution of new chips it still is their responsibility not some third party whose sole motive is PROFIT. All they are doing is minting money! I can't believe the State of Nevada knowingly allows this sort of thing to happen. Station casinos have been added to my "Do Not Visit" list. My New Year resolution will be to collect chips from jurisdictions that do not support such underhanded tactics (a tip of the hat to the State of New Jersey where every chip issued has to come off of a live table game). Thanks for the info. Happy Holidays. Chuck T.
