Gets complicated, doesn't it! And I think the fact that different people use different terminology means there will always be some small level of confusion.

For my personal records, I define an insert as being a colour marking around the edge of the chip, and would therefore consider these chips to have inserts (just not sure which is the chip colour, and which is the insert colour!
