... the E chips were found with New Orleans chips... and, like other N.O. finds in the past (as seen in Ed Herte's work), inlaid letters were part of the inventory.

J / I = Jefferson Inn
OD = O'Dwyer's
H / S / SP = Old Southport
J / E = Roof Garden

So far it looks like the "E" either stands alone or is an interlaced monogram of perhaps an E, C and/or F.
