The three casinos in Algarve openned in 1973, owned by Sointal- logo CUBS- first CASINO DO ALVOR, after CASINO DE MONTE GORDO and CASINO DE VILAMOURA.
In 1994 due to some irregularities, the government has cancelled the contract and himself runs the casinos until 1996 when a new contract to Algarve gambling was signed with SOLVERDE that was the owner of Casino de Espinho.
The chips:
The first chips were in plastic bicoloured(as attached)with 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, 1000 escudos value.
The plaques were plastic 5000, 20000, 50000, 100000.

CASINO DO ALVOR- this casino first settled in Penina- Alvor was transfered in 1989 to the near beach- PRAIA DA ROCHA. Then the casino was known by Casino do Alvor or Casino da Praia da Rocha.
This casino used the same chips from Casino do Alvor. In 1996 Solverde transfered the casino to an hotel in Praia da Rocha and the casino is known as CASINO HOTEL ALGARVE or CASINO DA PRAIA DA ROCHA. The chips were still ALVOR with CUBS logo from Sointal, but before escudos changed to Euros, Casino da Praia da Rocha was the only that issued 1000 escudos chips with Solverde logo. All the others continued using Sointal chips.
