I'm not a computer person, but I believe you are getting good advice to your questions here on the Chipboard BB.

We had "problems" with our old Windows 98 and decided to go to Gateway for our new Windows XP (Home Edition). It blows the socks off our old machine. We have not been kicked off the Internet once, no email problems, and much FASTER response time. I highly recommend Gateway sales & service. No, I do not work for Gateway!
