Re: Anybody been to the Macau casinos?

Chips are denominated in Hong Kong Dollars and Macanese Patacas-10, 50, and 100 in each. There is only about 5 percent difference between them, so they circulate together. They will NOT sell chips out of the cage. In fact, it is one of the most unfriendly gaming venues I've ever been to. There is virtually no english there on the signs and just about no one that will admit to being able to speak english. All casinos use the same chips and the Lisboa is the only one where you may occasionally see a western tourist or two. If you go anywhere else, you will be treated like a leper. My best advice for chipping is to bet 200 at Fan Tan, the bean counting game. The house charges 5 percent for winning bets similar to pai gow, and so when you win, you will be paid 190, which will include a 50 and 4 10s, hopefully different ones. Repeat if necessary.
