When I was there about 10 years ago, there were chips in both US$ and HK$. Since there was a major change in the law covering gaming in Macau in the last year or so, there may be new chips. However, I haven't seen any of them, just the old STDM markings that have been in use for years. I'd bet Venetian puts out new chips if they get their Macau casino open.

It helps if you have someone with you that understands Chinese; I had great difficulty communicating with anyone when I visited. Take the jetfoil from Hong Kong if it's still running. Very fast and quite an unusual experience. Like flying in an airplane at an altitude of three feet!
