I am seeing all kinds of interesting things as I look at my chip show treasures. Look at this Caesars 1000. It is obviously a no cash value chip, but isn't marked so. This chip is in TCR, but it's described as having hot-stamped dots. This is an inexpensive injection-molded chip, and I believe the four black dots are black plastic from the center layer of the chip. Under oblique lighting (that I can't duplicate in a scan), the tops of the dots are above the surface and are convex. The enlarged view shows the denomination was applied after the dots were formed. The reverse has some smearing, and I'd guess the center markings are silk-screened.
Very strange chip. Likely an RT Plastics, but could be Bud Jones. I can't believe Caesars would ever use a chip like this. Anybody have any more info?
