caution! If you stay at a Strip hotel location and you are that hotel when the party starts, they shut-down Vegas Blvd. and many access points. The street is elbow to elbow people and you are in effect, stuck where you are.

No cabs, no shuttles, no personal cars. no nothing.

If you party at an off-Strip location, you can generally leave when you want, particularly to go to another off-Strip location or home!

I will be attending a Gala Dinner at the Orleans with room accomodations. If I am lucky, I will have a room that faces the Strip so that I can watch the fireworks.

Although, I did spend the Millenium celebration on the bridge that connects the Excalibur to the Tropicana when midnight struck. And while I was stuck there, there sure was a sight and a memory I'll not forget. But after 2:00 am when things were still locked down I could not go anywhere unless I was willing to walk (through all the out-of-town intoxicants).

But you sure picked the right town to party. If I am not mistaken, New Years Eve is the biggest event in Vegas just behind Super Bowl Sunday.
