"The Lucky Eagle Casino on the Kickapoo reservation near Eagle Pass will remain closed for up to a week while federal gaming officials review its books and operations. Several hundred Kickapoo and others reported to work at the casino Thursday, expecting it to reopen at 6 p.m., only to find out about the unresolved issues with the gaming commission. The casino was closed when the Kickapoo voted to oust their tribal council, and then to elect a new one. The old council sued, but a federal judge has declined to intervene and urged the Kickapoo to resolve their disputes." San Antonio Express-News, 11-8-02
