In 1967 Bob Cashell started his gaming career by buying Bill and Effie's Cafe in Verdi. In 1972 he renamed it to Boomtown. He later managed Karl's Silver Club in Sparks, and the Bourbon Street Casino in Las Vegas. He's been owner of Winner's Inn, Star Casino and Model T in Winnemucca, the Alamo in Sparks, and the HorseShoe Club in Reno.
