Its about imagery.

I think Al understands. Its not that there is anything wrong with Al, its that Al does not fit the perception of what one would expect in the program when the program was started (most people would have told you the program was designed to keep kids from hanging out with people who looked like Al). Add to it that his activity with the Kid included a trip to a casino and I actually find it a sort of humourous vision.
