I agree with your freedom of speech comment, Bob, absolutely and unequivocally. I also agree with Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black, who voted consistently for the proposition that the Constitution means what it says in the First Amendment: "Congress shall pass no law ...."
And while advertising money does mean income to some people, the product was still worthless and I'd rather see someone else get at least some of that money by providing a worthwhile product.
Did you by any chance see the commercials in which California Governor Gray Davis does his Richard Nixon imitation: "four more years, four more years, four more years"? It was enough to make me vomit. As I type this, surprisingly, Davis is barely winning an election he spent more than $50 million to buy. And his opponent is a Republican business man (Bill Simon) with no political experience, who admits rarely even voting, and who has incredible baggage from some of his business failures.
Not suggesting that the government should do anything about this, Bob. Just venting!
