Jim, I refer to a chip (series) being drilled and then released in the marketplace by a casino or an agent of the casino for collectors, home play or whatever. These chips can no longer (in most cases) be redeemed at the casino. My point was aimple (the message carried on the drilled chip): the drill hole tells the person who sees it that "this chip is no longer in the same state as it was when it was in the casino when it was in play; it has been changed by us, the casino." Now, when this (drilled) chip is placed side-by-side with an undrilled chip there is certainly a message; especially if the veiwer opens his "TCR" and notes the prices (if the drilled chip is listed, of course).
