Archie - We are both right. There was a BLACK BEAR Casino here in Wisconsin. It was originally located just east of US Hwy 41, south of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. (On Lake Winnebago, half-way between Milwaukee and Green Bay (GO PACK)). I think, although I am not positive, that it was the Fond du Lac band of Chippawa Indians who started it. At the time Wisconsin only permitted "Indian Bingo", and with Oneida (Green Bay) and Ho-Chunk (Baraboo) so close and well-established, the tribe was not able to make a go of it. Minnestoa was more favorable to Native American casinos, so the tribe closed the Wisconsin casino. I don't know if it is the same Fond du Lac band in Carter, Minnesota, or not. However, the chips still say "Fond du Lac" on them, refering to the tribe, not the city.
