I think it took me about a year to get my name (and a year and half to get Wyatt's - my son).
I think what I liked most about acquiring my whole name was that sense of accomplishment when I had FINALLY "done it". As a collector of Harrah's - I WILL NEVER (I don't think) feel that sense of "I HAVE THEM ALL". Just the NV obsoletes are acquistions of a lifetime...
Excluding new releases, I am lucky to pick up a couple chips a year that "add" to the completion of "my Harrah's collection"
Working on current and obsolete roulettes ALONE seems like an impossible task... I can't even complete TABLES in some cases, much less experience the joy of "having them all".
So a "goal" like having your name in monograms IS possible - even with Q's and Z's and Y's in your name. The trick is to scan your progress... or the lack of it until some longtime collector takes pity on you and breaks out the toughies to shut you up!
One of the best ploys I saw was from my buddy Wayne Murphy. (Hey... where you been Wayne ) He taped up parts of a swastika to make his Y's. Dave Smith has a soft heart for underachieving collectors and eventually sent him letters he could use WITHOUT tape.
If you want YOUR name name in monograms... GO FOR IT!! It's fun and when you get it done... OH WHAT A FEELING!!!
