Re: New Concept for a RR
In Response To: New Concept for a RR ()

Ron; One of the advantages of receiving Round Robins (in the comfort of one's home) is the flexibility one has to view the RR at leisure before sending it on to the next participant.

I have thousands of roulettes and can't remember every single color of a particular design in my collection when at a Chapter meeting. Ditto on slot cards. If one is into collecting variations, we like to compare the actual cards in our collections and examine the backs of the cards for subtle differences.

What would the viewing sequence order be at a Chapter Meeting? Who would be the first person to examine a RR sent to a Chapter meeting? Generally speaking; cards brought into a Chapter meeting would probably be overwhelmingly from that particular geographic area... which is why RR's are designed to criss-cross the country so that ideally an east coast collector (as an example) is not receiving cards or roulettes directly from another east coast collector.

Who would be responsible for any "shortages" or duplicates inserted after a dozen or more people have examined the RR at a Chapter meeting? Who would be responsible for the safe return of a mailed-in RR to a Chapter Meeting? Additionally, I don't enjoy other people hanging over my shoulder reaching in to pick out chips or cards that I have not examined yet if it was my turn to examine the RR.

I also believe that the Chapter would want to encourage collectors to come to the meetings, not for collectors to mail a RR to a meeting. Would a mailed-in RR have to be from a Chapter Member? If not, why not?

Just my opinons ... I'm sure others will differ.
