Just got back from Tahoe and went buy an "Antique" store that carries mostly guns, knives and swords. It's Across from Elks Point just past Zepher cove, Right next to a Sears appliance store. He had some poker chips, among them, a set of 1000 Paulson/Christy Jones hot stamped "C&E." there were three colors total all in a leather-bound chipcase. I made him an offer of just under $200 for the chip and $20 for the case. He looked at me like I was a monkey that just threw feces at him. After quickly shutting the case as he walked away, I asked him how much "he thought" they were worth to which he replied "$2500.00,"..."just had a guy offer me $1200.00." I then asked him why they were worth so much, hoping he had some info that I didn't already know, and he replied, " 'cause they're old....clay chips." To that I replied, "you should find the guy that offered you $1200.00." I also felt like telling him that just because somthing is old, dosen't mean it's worth anything. I bought my Black Jack (Sap) and left the store. I should've used it on him. To all that want a good laugh, swing buy and check it out. He's also got a 1889 Navy Colt that shakes rattles, and has more rust on it more than my '67 Lincoln for $1000.00.
