I bought an HP a couple years ago. I wanted a scanner that I could use with my laptop and the HP scanner was cheaper than a PCMCIA SCSI interface card that I'd need to use my now almost 10-year-old Canon IX-4015 scanner. I put the HP back in the box after using it for a couple months. The first jeton was scanned on the HP, the second on the Canon.
