I don't think it is a skeptical reaction to acts of kindness, but a level of concern by just about everyone as to what we each can do to make a real difference in the life of someone in unfortunate circumstances. I believe that donating time or money to organizations that are already operating that offer real help to the unfortunate among us is the best way to go.
