David's suggestions are all strong candidates. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Guns N Roses come back (assuming Axl hasn't self-destructed by then). The tour kicks off November 7 or so in Toronto, and despite not having played anywhere else in the U.S. for 8 years, they have spent the last two New Year's in Vegas. Add to that the fact that Axl seemed to really enjoy playing the Hard Rock last year,, and if I were setting odds I'd have them as a 3-2 favorite.
Bruce also has a tight relationship with the Hard Rock as evidenced by their sponsoring his Thomas & Mack show. I might peg him at 3-1.
And then just talking out-of-the-blue, I'd like to see them go after someone like AudioSlave, the new band featuring Chris Cornell and the surviving members of Rage Against The Machine. They have no connection that I know of to Vegas or The Hard Rock. I just think they're one of the hottest new bands out there and exactly the type of band that would work for a gig like that.
