How about some links?
Here's a Dean ("Get a Life!") Clark story:
Rene finds 600 $5 Thunderbird chips V5767 just before the '00 convention, posts to the board and puts them on sale at the show for $25. The current TCR at the time showed them as a Z3 chip ($800+). Dean buys some as the show opens, runs home and has them on eBay within a couple of hours at a high (as I remember) opening price. Unsuspecting bidders who were no match for Dean's inside knowlege bid as if the chip was still genuinely rare. No mention in the guys auction of Rene's find or a hint of the true number available. Got a way to rationaize that? Some folks around here who had already been treated badly by Dean ("ya busybodies!") fired some torpedoes into his auction and his would-be (guess that would suck) victims were informed of the facts.
