I made a mistake. I said I never heard anyone complain that he got to much for a chip.
There was the time (convention 2000 I think) where Rene was selling Thunderbird (there is dispute to origin) chips of which he had found a new quantity of a previously hard to find chip. Rene found a bunch of these chips which previously had a chip Rack value in the thousands of dollars. Rene sold them for $25 each at the convention to anyone who wanted one.
Dean bought these chips and while the convention was still going on (so many of us didn't see it because we were away from our computers) put the chips up for auction on Ebay -- specifically mentioning the Chip Rack value and not mentioning the new find.
Many of us objected to that.
