Error (definition): A chip or token with a manufacturing defect.
Thank you Bob for providing the link to the CC and GTCC Glossary. It is very interessting. However, while the definition tells what an error is, it seems to me (my opinion!) vague. What exactly is a "manufacturing defect"? And, although I admit I just glanced over the other definitions, I don't think it even addresses "mis-spelled" checks. Do they not fall into the "error" category? The mistake occurred during the 'manufacturing' of the check! A little cloudy to me.
By the way, I'm not trying to be facetious. It's just very hard for me to accept that a chip with a mis-spelled word wouldn't be considered an error, whether it is eventually corrected or not. It's obvious that some others on the BB feel differently. I'm just trying to see the proof.
Thanks again, Jack
