Got this goggle-eyed chip from an eBay auction. Lots to like, Las Vegas, C&J mold, fractional and a hotstamp. Only one side was presented in the auction and I though perhaps the reverse would be centered but when I got the chip I found an eccentric HS on both sides. Got any ideas to share about the happenstance of both sides being so wobblefied? I had a nice Chip Chat with a respected expert at the Reno show and he mentioned trial run chips where the manufacturer would test settings for hot stamping and set the chip apart from the regular production run. Is this such a chip I wonder? The scan shows the chip as if it had been flipped on edge from one side to the other. The letters T and E of Hotel are the closest to the edge on both sides but not aligned one side to the other at all. Chip is in new condition and the hotstamp is flawless in all detail. Love this little guy, what do ya think, test sample, first chip stamped after a rough weekend or ...?
