David,
In the aftermath of 9/11, I made this offer to Club members. I offered $1 chips from the Big Apple Casino in Washington for $3 each and actual postage. These chips had a picture of the World Trade Center on them. Every penny I received from the orders, including postage, was donated to charity. I paid for the chips, the bubble envelopes and the postage. I donated the entire amount received from Club members to charity. I also matched the entire amount donated with my own donation.
The point is that I did not make a penny off my Fundraiser. Instead, I spent a considerable of my own money for the fundraiser. I also offered the chips at a reasonable amount of $3 each for a current $1 U.S. chip. I charged the exact amount of the postage. I did not charge any "handling fees".
David, I like the idea of the fundraiser, but I think that you need to review the finances of this deal. I would be glad to contribute, even if I do not need any of the chips, as long as my entire contribution went to the Building Fund.
