John - valid points. However my preference stems from the fact that a blank slot card cannot be used for its intended purpose (tracking play) and therefore is unfinished. A bit like a casino chip that is incomplete (a brass core slug is the obvious example). Only when a slot card has been issued with (usually) a name and number is it the finished article and as far as I'm concerned collectible.
Of course, if I collect 'printed on' cards and you collect blanks, both are perfectly fine pursuits!
