We've got five players now, we need 11 more! You don't need to watch the show to play, as I'll be posting a mailing a recap every week.
Details below:
If there's enough interest, I would like to start a Survivor Thailand chip competion. Here's how it would work.
1) Everyone puts up $5 face value worth of chips*, any combination that they like. (5 x $1, 2 x $2.50, 1 x $5, 10 x .50...get it?)
2) Each player will be RANDOMLY assigned a survivor player (no picking), and if that player gets voted off, the chip owner loses.
3) After the first 8 contestants are voted off, all the losers mail their chip(s) to one of the winners. I'll handle the mailing list. (Random again)
4) After the next four are booted, we do the above again. Those chip players whose contestants make it to the final four have won two chips at this point.
5) The ultimate winner gets the remaining four chips.
So, winnings look like this:
8 People give 1 chip and get 0.
4 People get 1 chip and give 1 chip
3 People get 2 chips and give 1.
1 Person gets 5 chips, and sends nothing.
So, it's even odds that you'll at least get a new chip.
Ideally, we'd have 16 players. If we don't have that much interest, I'll try to see if we can make it work another way, but if not we'll just skip it.
Anyway, is there any interest? Please let me know,as the show is starting fairly soon. I'll create a web page of standings and such if we can make this a go.
*Of course legally, this can only work if the chips have no cash value or are obsolete. This is not gambling. As far as I'm concerned, this is how the contest is being run. As for how you personally conduct your end of the contest, that's your business, if you get my drift. No one but you and the recipient will know which chip you sent. For the record, the chip I'm putting up is indeed, a NCV LE in mint condition.
Thanks,
