I was hoping the new Golden Phoenix Casino would be open by the time of the Reno chip show September 20-21, 2002.

The website currently indicates that the casino will be opening "late summer 2002."

Seeking a more precise date, I called there this evening and was told that the new Grand Opening date is now (tentatively) November 1, 2002.

Close, but no cigar.
