I do not think changing the user name will result in a reduced amount of spam unless your ID is your email address. I think the spam is linked more to the email address vs ID. You do not lose your feedback when the user ID is changed. You will have sunglasses beside the ID for 30 days. That indicated that the user has changed the ID. I changed my ID a few months back without any negative impact.
