Those were also the days when child abuse and beating your wife was something "kept in the family," when homosexuals had to hide who they were, when lynchings were commonplace in some states and no jury would convict on them, when most people believed that tobacco was healthy except the tobacco companies -- who lied about it, when children weren't yet inoculated for a dozen or so deazdly diseases, I could go on and on.
People always long for the good old days. Personally, I like the progress we've made. Can't wait to see the additional progress we make in the next quarter century. I don't find it scary at all.
