The person whose e-mail address was used is absolutely devastated...despite the fact that she is the kind of person no one would believe capable of doing this. I am only hopeful that since it is an inside job, that the perp can be caught. However two years ago someone used a phony address, sent a message to my 98 students on a class list serve and said that the final exam had been canceled. Our gurus were unable to find (or perhaps not terribly interested in finidng) our who did it. Maybe this event will shake them up and maybe it will not be possible to catch the b*****d who did it.
