Well... for those of you who were interested in the Hard Rock home game set... here's my "report"
The chips are strange... I have NO idea what they are made of... they are VERY lightweight and remind me of stale communion wafers
However, I find them "cute", colorful and am glad to have a set for my collection.
"Set distribution" was not even...
There were 3 stacks of red and 3 stacks of white (and I can't find my notes... but something like 64 reds, 63 whites), 1 stack of green (21 chips), 13 black and 9 purple.
The rack is black/ plastic with 6 stacks and room for 2 decks of cards.
The handle has "Hard Rock" across it with some playing cards...
No cards came with the set BUT a week later, an envelope arrived with 2 decks of cards, so I have to assume they missed them in shipping or they were backordered. The cards appeared to be different than the ones available at gift shop, but I sent both decks to my "partners" so really didn't look at them as carefully as I should have... sorry
As a non Hard Rock collector, I must say truthfully, I wasn't impressed.
Even if this had been a Harrah*s set, I wouldn't have been impressed
but "new chips" are new chips... and I'm glad I got some.
On a scale of 1 - 10, I give the chips a 5 (because I happen to be in a good mood
Overall... I won't tell you what I "rate" the set as a whole... but once the cards arrived, I was a little happier (I mean geez!! Not even ONE deck of cards???? But I was wrong... late cards... but cards none-the-less)
3 of us shared the cost, chips & cards -
We each only got 3 complete "5-color sets" (which wasn't many!!
My extra 4 & 5 - color sets are already gone.
I will have some 3 color sets (red/ white/ green) for trade AFTER I finish up the 18,000 trades I have in progress - and get Len his Laughlin scans
I hope others who got complete sets - or those who got chips - will post their opinions as well - expecially since my opinion isn't very flattering.
I DO like the chips... and STILL want to know what they are made of.
