They're up and running, pretty good. Aftre being open 3 days, some confusion, but all in all a really nice casino. Jam packed. Hard pressed to find an open seat at a table or a slot machine. They have 8 BJ tables, 1 Pai Gow and 1 Let-It-Ride table. Lot's o slots. Food was great. Staff very helpful.
They don't have ANY chips below $5.00. $1.00 tokens is it. I picked up the pretty basic stuff in the scan. The $5.00 GO is not really a GO, but a commemorative chip. Regular $5.00, same on both sides. Tokens, same on both sides. $25.00, same on both sides. Basic chips.
My chip collecting story......They wouldn't sell me chips from the cage. Said I had to buy them off the tables. Finally found an open seat and kinda sat down. I don't play table games, so didn't plan on staying. I pulled out a $100.00 bill and a $50.00 bill and a Zip Lock Baggie.
A young lady to my left asked, " you gonna play?" I said, "no, just buyin' some chips." She asked, "what are you gonna do with them." I said, "put them in my collection, spread them around to other collectors." She said, "you think they'll go up in value?" I said, "sure, and they're always worth face value." "Well what if this place closes", she asked. I said, "then they're worth more because you can't get them. You can't lose.I said, "you better put a couple in your purse." "Hummm", she said. Meanwhile, i've slowed down play pretty good by asking the dealer for X anount of 25s, X amount of tokens, X amount of $5. commemoratives and the balance in regular 5s. I could sense the other players getting restless, but all were watching with interest. Took the dealer a while to get it right, but she did. I put everything in my Zip Lock and started to get up. The young lady to my left said, "you mean they'll just let you walk out of here with those?" I smiled and said, "i'll find out!" As I left she was turning her chips over, looking VERY closely at them. Me thinks we might have another collector.
Now, you wanna here my slot card collecting story.
Later....Rick
