In the days leading up to its summer recess, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 273-151 to kill a tribal-gaming study commission proposed by gaming foe Frank Wolf (R-Va.). And House Majority Whip Thomas DeLay said he will work to block any efforts aimed at getting a full House vote on Rep. Bob Goodlatte’s current proposal to ban Internet gambling in the United States. DeLay (R-Texas) worries that the Virginia Republican’s on-again, off-again bill to ban Net bets contravenes states’ rights.
