How can something so simple, become so complicated?
The club has used the logo for years without any challenge, payment or contract. The club owns it now based on usage. Of course using this logic, all of the members also own it and have free use, because it wasn't copyrighted or protected.
However it would be more polite to ask Bill for permission, thank him in the Mag. and give the artist recognition and thank him in the Mag.
I seem to recall that the logo has changed from the original design. But the basic contents and design are representative of what we collect. Chips, dice, cards, tokens and casino related items.
Keep the design.
I know of clubs that have multiple logo/designs that they use, concurrently. Maybe the contest isn't a bad idea, just for interests sake. The second one could be the "official" club logo and protected, no use without written permission, the original could be for member and general usage?
