OK, well that finally puts the issue into terms that make sense to me. Until yuo wrote that, I had yet to see a post suggesting that permission to use the artowrk was in disupte. I was assuming that people just felt the right to use may not have been exclusive. Thanks.

I think the club should still defend the use of the logo agressively, until they decide to abandon it. Even if they are infirnging a copyright, they can still prevent others from using it in a tradmark sense.
