If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Why would we, in all good reason, alter a logo that is just beginning to gain a larger-scale recognition (especially if we are in the process of trying to publicize the hobby and recruit new members)?
In any case, before a design contest suddenly appears, the membership at large should vote on whether or not to change the logo in the first place....just my 2 cents.
