Interesting to see Jim's definition of the crest and seal type of chip:
"The late 1940's saw a shift to a high quality printed center chip called Seal & Crest. Made on a plain mold or custom design mold, these chips offered more security and were non duplicate."
It appears that to this company, 'crest and seal' meant 'put a printed inlay in the center of the chip'. A plain mold was not essential to the definition.
