Although I feel that the "Waste" should be Reprocessed and recycled. I think would be much safer 500 feet underground in the middle of a secure military installation than sitting in 200 unsecure sites around the country.

Unlike Europe that reprocesses their Fuel rods and uses them again. We use once and then throw everything away.
