Amtrak is very strapped for cash, they need $200 million just to keep operating till the end of the year. I guess that's what you get when you charge $21.00 for a one-way ticket from Newark Penn Station to New York Penn Station when you can walk across the lobby to New Jersey Transit and only pay $3.30 for a one-way ticket.
