It will never happen.They can't get the track time back from the freight railroads. Even if they do it will never make a dent in the vehicle traffic. 13 million cars a year, 62,000 train passengers per year, would reduce vechiles by 31,000 a year!(2per car) Like spitting in the ocean.I'd love to take the train,but I'm just dreaming.There isn't a passanger rail system in the world that can make a profit. Only freight railroads make money.In Europe they pay 3-4 dollars for a gallon of gas .60 of the hi tax goes to the railroads. We only tax .01 and voted down another .01 a gallon.Amtrack will be gone in a year or two. The commuter systems will survive. Today they lose 365.00 per person on every cross country train. Sorry I love railroading a real "foamer"
