Kent; Sure, I would love to respond to your question... but the answer is so obvious ... I didn't respond to it when I first read Jim's post.... so I'm glad that you asked.
THE CLUB IS NOT HOLDING A CONVENTION IN RENO! ..... like the American Bowling Congress does.
This is a privately run commercial chip show being held in Reno.... and I have no problem with that.
There were several Las Vegas casinos in June of this year that issued chips with the club logo on them (with the approval of the Board) to mark the club's 10th annual convention being held in that city. Big difference....
That's not the case in Reno...
If the club were to hold a convention in Sparks, Nevada I would welcome official CC & GTCC convention chips all over town with the approved club logo on them.
However, if Kent Hedberg were to run his own personally sponsored chip show in Fremont, California I would be equally opposed to granting permission for a chip with the club logo on it for your commercial show.... that does not mean that I would not support your show. It's a matter of protecting what I consider to be a valuable asset that belongs to the club... and should not be given away like a stick of candy to private enterprise.
