I fealt incredably cheated by a Skip Tracer once. I was working for an attorney and we had a client that was trying to collect from someone. Can't remember if it was a former tenent or someone who owed him from a judgement or something. Anyways. Numerous orders and other documents were attempted to be served and mailed and ... All came back unserved or undeliverable. It had been a year or so that they couldn't find the woman. They said OK, Call in the Skip Tracer. I called him and gave her name and old address. That was all we had. Name and a 2 year old address. I can't remember what the fee was but I know it was a lot. About 10 minutes later he called back not only with her new address but her employers name and the name of her bank. I had to use this guy twice for different people. Both times it only took him minutes to find the subject and call us back. What a living.
I could just picture this guy sitting at a desk with his raunchy cigar and a cup of cold coffee, poking away at his computer keyboard digging up cold trails for what might have been hundreds of dollars a minute.
