I respectfully disagree with you. The way the logo is used, it appears to be a club-related show. Welcoming our members is not inconsistent, just as our annual convention welcomes our members. The issue is not what was intended by the promoter, but rather what the reasonable person would believe. I think that anyone injured would make a very convincing claim that the chip seems to imply a club event.
Chuck is, in my opinion, right on the mark with the liability issue. The board has not asked my opinion, and I am not voicing this on behalf of the board in any manner, but I personally am very opposed to this type of use of the club logo. We have no idea what type of insurance was obtained, whether or not we are a loss payee, etc. Too many questions need to be answered before our corporate identity should be used to promote a personal profit-making enterprise.
