Mike,
I'd like to clear up any questions that may be on peoples minds. Yes, I am promoting the show in RENO. Allen graciously offered to work with the people at the Reno Hilton to release a chip in conjunction with the Show. The "only" reason I am putting on this show is to test the waters , "so to speak", on the feasablity of RENO being a good site for further shows. I live in the Pacific Northwest and do a Show here in Oregon, this I can live with. Putting on shows out of my area are a bit on the difficult side to say the least.
I being the enthusistic type promote the Club as much as I seek and Collect chips. My Poker Room has on hand applications for the Club and current and past issues of the Club magazine's for my players to read. 3 of my players are collectors and 2 are Club Members.
I am a firm believer that the CC>CC should sanction ALL Shows and authorize the Dates, Locations of these shows. Anytime there is a Casino Chip Show, No matter who promotes it, The CC>CC should be promoted and represented.
This has been a part of all the Shows that I have had. I always donate a Table to the Club or a Chapter of the Club for Promotional purposes. In Oregon the 2001 show the Club had a Table for the purpose of Seeking NEW MEMBERS, the 2002 Show I donated a Table to the Slab Free Chapter and at the RENO Show the Club Building Fund Group has a Table. So now back to the question No the Reno Show is not a Club Show, But They should all be. Because as far as I am concerned Chip Collecting, Chip Shows and The CC>CC go hand in hand.
